The High Capacity Series Resonant Test System is designed for demanding high-voltage applications requiring carefully engineered AC withstand testing solutions.
For extra-high-voltage and selected ultra-high-voltage projects, equipment selection must consider the required test voltage, test-object capacitance, rated current, operating frequency, test duration, insulation coordination, and measurement requirements.
The system uses variable-frequency series resonance to generate high AC test voltage through a resonant circuit. A suitable configuration can provide high test voltage without requiring the input supply to deliver the full reactive power associated with the capacitive test load.
The system can be engineered for selected EHV cable, GIS, transformer, and other high-voltage equipment testing applications. Final suitability must be confirmed for each test object and test procedure.

Voltage and capacity selection: Both must be evaluated against the required test voltage, load capacitance, and operating conditions.
Reactor configuration: The number and combination of reactor sections should match the electrical requirements of the test object.
Site and laboratory design: Clearances, grounding, installation space, transport, and safety interfaces must be addressed.
Measurement requirements: The voltage divider and measurement system must be suitable for the specified test conditions.
Standards and documentation: The project should identify the relevant standards and exact compliance requirements before final equipment selection.
Q1: Can you supply a 330 kV, 400 kV, or higher-rated series resonant system?
Configurations for different voltage levels can be discussed. The required output rating and system design depend on the intended test application and actual technical specifications.
Q2: Does a higher voltage rating always mean a higher-capacity system is required?
No. The required capacity also depends on test-object capacitance, operating frequency, and test conditions.
Q3: Can the system be used for both cables and GIS?
Potentially, if the selected configuration satisfies the electrical requirements for each application.
Q4: What should be considered for an EHV project?
Key parameters include test voltage, capacitance, current, frequency range, test duration, measuring system, laboratory layout, and safety provisions.
Q5: Can you supply a complete project solution?
A complete scope can be discussed, including the power supply, excitation transformer, reactor assembly, voltage divider, control system, and agreed engineering support.
Provide the required voltage, test object, capacitance, applicable standard, and project scope. Our engineering team can review the application and prepare a customized technical proposal.
